Eric Westhof, PhD

University Professor, Head of the UPR 9002-ARN CNRS

Research

  • RNA structure (3D modeling, X-ray analysis)
  • Structure analysis of RNA-ligands complexes
  • RNA ontology

Eric's research team of Modelling and Simulation of nucleic acids concentrates its efforts on determining the rules that governs the process of the RNA folding. The techniques used included (1) Simulations of molecular and Brownian dynamics (MD), (2) Building and modelling of RNA three-dimensional structures, (3) Development of bioinformatic tools allowing the search for covariations or the 3D modelling of nucleic acids. (4) Crystallography of RNA fragments incorporating binding sites for small molecules.
